Stores request, enclosure missing

A retained copy from the correspondence file.

The Acoustic Reconstruction allocation refers to a single instrument crate. Stores received the request as part of an ordinary field-supply order. Its price was not ordinary, and appears to have been accepted without discussion.

The original dispatch is held by Barking Spider Supply. The next useful question is what was sent, rather than what it was called in the public directory.

A handwritten note at the foot of the request reads: “The room is the experiment. The animal is the explanation supplied to visitors.” No initials follow.

Notebook question: Which department employed Ventworth on the west-room project?
